The BD FACSAria Fusion Cell Sorter is a high speed-cell sorter with a fixed-alignment cuvette flow cell for high fluorescence sensitivity. It is placed in a biosafety cabinet for increased protection and can be used with BSL-2 level samples. To further enhance biosafety protection, the BD FACSAria Fusion has an integrated biosafety cabinet a built-in Aerosol Management System (AMS) that evacuates aerosols. The instrument is equipped with 5 high power lasers (355nm (UV), 405nm (Violet), 488nm (Blue), 561nm (Yellow Green) and 633nm (Red)) detecting up to 18 fluorescent parameters plus forward and side scatter signals. To achieve unrivaled sensitivity and resolution, the BD FACSAria Fusion has precisely integrated fluidic and optical systems to maximize signal detection. Optimized fiber-launched lasers improve sensitivity and resolution for each color in a multicolor assay.

FACSAria Fusion enables the fusion of safety, performance and sorting. It is specifically designed to sort cells at high flow speeds. It supports 2, 4-way and plate sorting. The sorted cells are collected in a variety of vessels of 1.5ml, 5ml or 15 ml collecting tubes, with four sizes of nozzles (70, 85, 100 and 130 micron) enabling a wide range of cells sizes. ACDU unit is applied for slide and plate sorting in 6-, 24-, 48-, 96- and 384-well plates. At 70 psi pressure and 90 kHz frequency with an average threshold rate of 25,000 events per second, a four-way sort can be achieved with >98% purity. Sensitivity enables separation of fixed platelets from noise, identification of bacteria and detection of 0.5-μm beads.
